Brazilian hydrous ethanol parity edging closer 70%

March 14, 2017 |

In Brazil, lower hydrous ethanol prices due to mills looking to make space ahead of the approaching sugarcane crush have led to a lower parity with gasoline at just over 74%, down a percentage point from a week prior and two percentage points from a month prior. Though technically hydrous is not competitive with gasoline until it is below 70%, lower prices do encourage drivers to fill up more readily to save money in the short term.
