Malaysian biodiesel production could hit 900,000 tons in 2017 if B10 implemented

March 14, 2017 |

In Malaysia, biodiesel production is expected to soar this year to as much as 900,000 metric tons from just 500,000 tons in 2016 as producers respond to expected demand from the B10 policy to be implemented over the next several months. Production in 2016 had fallen by 173,000 tons from 2015. If the blending policy isn’t implemented this year as expected, production could then hover flat with last year’s production or rise to no more than 600,000 tons.
