Source of biodiesel spill on Columbia River unknown

March 22, 2017 |

In Washington state, a biodiesel spill has been detected in the Columbia River near Wenatchee but the source of the fuel has yet to be determined. Bystanders first notice a sheen on the river Friday and reported to the state’s department of ecology who has been monitoring the situation ever since and is using absorbent booms to contain the biodiesel. So far wildlife do not appear to have been impacted by the spill following tests on water quality.
