POET Biorefining to decide on Marion expansion by month’s end

In South Dakota, POET Biorefining is looking to invest up to $130 million to expand one of its existing 27 corn-based ethanol plants, with the Marion facility confirmed as being on the short list. The decision expected to be made by the end of this month would see production double, in the case of Marion at least, with design and permitting expected over the next couple of months in order to ensure the expansion project comes online by Q3 2018.
