Indian Oil seeking Haryana land to build 2G ethanol plant

In India, the Indian Oil Company is seeking 50 acres from the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation to build its planned second-generation ethanol plant near to its oil refinery currently located in Panipat. The facility is one of three to be designed by Praj for the company using agricultural waste as feedstock. The state’s chief minister indicated that upon receipt of a proposal it would be reviewed favorably. Up to 20% could be blended with gasoline following a policy shift to allow for higher blends using second-generation fuels.
