April 4, 2017 |

In the United Arab Emirates, Masdar Institute’s green desert project integrating halophyte farming with aquaculture for aviation biofuel production is getting ready for its first oilseed harvest in June. Project partners including Etihad Airways and Boeing along with other private sector companies toured the project last week to check in on progress. The oil refined into aviation biofuel will be used on an Etihad Airways flight. The company flew a test flight in 2014 on 10% biofuel.
