In Illinois, the front-month Chicago ethanol swap soared to a four-month high last week at $1.6850/gal thanks to shrinking supplies due to some producers shutting down for maintenance, finally falling below an average of 1 million gallons per day at 986,000 b/d. That was the lowest production seen in six weeks and more of a production drop than was expected by some analysts. In line with lower production, stocks fell as well to 22.903 million barrels, the sharpest drop in stocks seen in a single week in six months.
