Blue seeks to expand UCO biodiesel production into Abu Dhabi

In the United Arab Emirates, Tadweer will begin providing permits to companies collecting used cooking oil to produce biodiesel in Abu Dhabi but no timetable has been given for when those permits could be approved. One local waste oil recycler, Blue, had been waiting for permission so it could boost its collection and processing from the current 227,000 liters per day that it collects in Dubai by including oil from Abu Dhabi restaurants and hotels. Currently UCO is sold for export or simply dumped in nearby water ways.
