Praj commissions 2G “smart biorefinery”

May 4, 2017 |

In India, Praj commissioned its second-generation ethanol “smart biorefinery” pilot plant in Gujarat using crop waste as feedstock. In addition to ethanol, the company plans to produce green chemicals and intermediates. Using farm waste will help to reduce the extensive burning farmers practice every year while helping the country to achieve its energy independence goals through 22.5% ethanol blending. The company’s technology is to be employed at commercial scale by several projects under development by the country’s oil marketing companies.
