Milwaukee approves lease deal to allow ethanol exports via port

In Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Common Council approved the lease amendment to allow US Venture to lease an additional .89 acres allowing it to connect to the liquid port so it could export ethanol to Canada and potentially Europe. To get the motion through took two votes, however, because most of the aldermen expressed concern about heightened ethanol transportation and safety concerns regarding the increased traffic. However, the council was backed into a corner legally because in reality the company already had permission to use the liquid port.
