Oregon PUC approves sale of oil storage tanks for Port Westward ethanol facility

July 3, 2017 |

In Oregon, the state’s Public Utilities Commission approved the sale of nine crude oil storage tanks at Port Westward owned by Portland General Electric to Global Partners for ethanol storage supporting the company’s ethanol transfer facility. With nine more tanks on top of the two currently owned by Global Partners, storage capacity will increase to more than 1 million barrels. Increasing storage capacity is also a precursor to potentially restarting the Columbia Pacific Bio-refinery the company bought but never used at the port.
