Swedish sawmill investing $2.9 million in 6MW boiler

July 5, 2017 |

In Sweden, Bergs Timber will invest $2.9 million in a new boiler at its Mörlunda mill that will produce 6MW of power from waste biomass, replacing the old boiler that was installed in the 1980s. The new boiler should be online by next summer, helping the facility to improve its production efficiency for small diameter timber through increased use of its drying capacity as well as reduced flue gas emissions and better combustion of the biomass.
