July 10, 2017 |

In Washington state, a 557-foot ethanol tanker ran aground on its way from Port Westward with 1.63 million gallons of ethanol in addition to 6.5 million gallons of mono-ethylene glycol. The Coast Guard is still assessing the vessel’s damage and what it will take to repair it as well as any potential fines. It said that none of its contents were leaked as a result of the accident Thursday morning. A fuel pump failed, causing the accident.
