In Brazil, stocks of anhydrous ethanol slipped 3% on the year at 1.59 billion liters as of July 1 as higher consumption is met with lower production due to mills choosing to produce sugar over ethanol thanks to higher prices. Hydrous stocks increased 2% to nearly 1.96 billion liters as cheaper gasoline prices kept drivers from filling up with E100 in their flex-fuel cars. Hydrous ethanol production is down 20% on the year while anhydrous is down 6%.
