Ethanol production up 19K barrels per day from last week, highest in nine weeks

In Washington, DC, according to EIA data as reported by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 1.026 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 43.09 million gallons daily. That is up 19,000 b/d from the week before and the largest volume in nine weeks. The four-week average for ethanol production increased to 1.016 million b/d for an annualized rate of 15.58 billion gallons.

Stocks of ethanol expanded to 22.1 million barrels. That is a 4.2% increase from last week’s reserves. There were zero imports recorded for the tenth week in a row.

Average weekly gasoline demand decreased 2.0% to 402.9 million gallons (9.592 million barrels) daily. This is equivalent to 147.0 billion gallons annualized. Refiner/blender input of ethanol decreased 0.6% to 921,000 b/d, equivalent to 14.12 billion gallons annualized. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production increased to 10.70%.
