EPA awards Al-Corn Clean Fuel with right to produce D6 RINs

August 22, 2017 |

In Minnesota, the Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Al-Corn Clean Fuel with the efficient producer designation, allowing it to generate D6 RINs using a dry mill process at its Claremont facility. The designation is awarded when the lifecycle emissions analysis of the fuel produced demonstrates greenhouse gas emissions reductions to be 20% or higher. The EPA determined the fuel reduced GHG emissions by 22.4% compared to the standard 16.8% thanks to slight improvements against the baseline in more categories along the LCA.
