August 22, 2017 |

In Canada, an arbitrator mandated the Oshawa Port Authority pay FarmTech nearly C$4.2 million after it decided to cancel the company’s proposed ethanol plant project following an agreement made in 2012. The arbitration award has thrown the port into the red, seeking ways to pay the arbitration award when it only brings in roughly C$1.7 million per year. The port is working with local and national authorities on a solution.
