In Argentina, the country’s biodiesel producers association Carbio is hopeful that a resolution to its ongoing dispute with the European Union regarding seemingly unfair anti-dumping duties in the next few weeks, a policy shift it hopes will help to compensate for the suddenly closed US market following the Department of Commerce’s decision to lob 64.17% duties on Argentine imports. The EU duties set in 2013 were for between 22 percent and 25.7 percent, just a fraction of the new US duties but brought imports to a screeching halt.
