Philippine city to launch biodiesel production following successful pilot

In the Philippines, the $1 million biodiesel production facility donated by the Japanese International Cooperation Organization will be inaugurated on Friday to being producing and supply fuel produced from used cooking oil to Davao City. The plant was originally imported and run on a trial basis in June when 1,000 liters of oil were converted into 900 liters of fuel and tested in city fleet vehicles. The city is offering other departments the opportunity to trial the UCO fuel produced from the new facility.
