Abengoa’s former San Roque biodiesel plant back online with new owners

August 30, 2017 |

In Spain, the former Abengoa biodiesel plant in San Roque has come back online after being mothballed for 18 months thanks to its new owners, Cepsa Bioenergia. The plant has been upgraded to produce 200,000 metric tons of FAME along with 25,000 tons of glycerin and was integrated into Cepsa’s Gibraltar-San Roque Refinery next door. The company purchased the facility from Abengoa in February as part of the latter’s asset liquidation process during its bankruptcy and restructuring process.
