Argentina raises ethanol prices slightly for September

September 5, 2017 |

In Argentina, the government raised sugarcane ethanol prices 1.3% for September to 98 cents per liter and corn-based ethanol 1.7% to 79 cents per liter. Oil companies are required to buy ethanol from producers at prices set by the agriculture ministry in order to achieve the mandated 12% ethanol blend. The ministry is allowed to change the price of ethanol on a monthly basis for the month ahead but it is capped at a 5% increase from one month to the next.
