EIA sees ethanol production continuing to climb through 2018

In Washington, the Energy Information Administration said in its September short-term energy outlook that it expects ethanol production to continue growing well past the blend wall with an average of 1.03 million barrels per day in 2017, growing to 1.04 million barrels per day in 2018, peaking Q4 2018 at 1.05 million barrels per day, the last quarter available in the STEO. It expects total fuel imports to continue falling, to 4.16 million barrels per day in 2017 compared to 4.87 million barrels in 2016, and further in 2018 to 3.6 million barrels.
