Argentina cancels purchase for four French vessels in retaliation over biodiesel duty complaints

In Argentina, the president has lashed out at France following French and German rapeseed producers threatening to take the European Commission recent slashing of anti-dumping imports back to the World Trade Organization. To demonstrate his displeasure with the European threats, he proceeded to cancel the purchase of four French ocean patrol vessels, which could become the parting shots in a new trade war between Europe and Argentina despite Mercosur negotiations being the closest to finalization they’ve been in 20 years.
