Ethanol production at lowest output rate in 6 weeks

In Washington, D.C., the Renewable Fuels Association reports that according to EIA data, ethanol production averaged 1.033 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 43.39 million gallons daily. That is down 14,000 b/d from the week before and the lowest output rate in six weeks. The four-week average for ethanol production decreased to 1.045 million b/d for an annualized rate of 16.02 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol remained at 21.1 million barrels for the third straight week. There were zero imports recorded for the week.

Average weekly gasoline demand decreased 1.9% to 396.5 million gallons (9.441 million barrels) daily. This is equivalent to 144.7 gallons annualized. Refiner/blender input of ethanol decreased 0.3% to 898,000 b/d, equivalent to 13.77 billion gallons annualized and a 28-week low. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production increased to 10.94%.
