Boho factor falls to 22-month low that could boost blending economics

September 25, 2017 |

In Texas, the boho factor between heating oil and soy oil fell to a 22-month low to 63.33 cents/gal on the back of rising NYMEX ultra-low sulfur contract prices that reached the highest since June 30, 2105 on Monday and lower soybean oil prices. With the lower boho factor, blending biodiesel becomes more economically viable. The upcoming soybean harvest in the US is expected to weigh further on biodiesel prices but a lack of competition from Argentine imports could complicate the supply scenario.
