EPA says RIN production rose in August while corn-based RINs fell

In Washington, the Environmental Protection Agency reported last week that August corn-based ethanol RIN production fell by more than 4% on the month to 1.326 billion while total RIN production increased more than 5% to 1.755 billion. Advanced biofuel D5 RIN production jumped more than 430% to 28.18 million RINs, an increase of 22.86 million from July. Cellulosic biofuel RIN production fell more than 1% from the previous month to 20.11 million while biomass-diesel production rose nearly 2.4% to 380 million.
