House bill seeks to break the blend wall

In Washington, Representative Kevin Cramer, R-N.D has co-sponsored HR 1311 that seeks to introduce a waiver allowing for blends above 10%, effectively breaking the blend wall of 10%. He said in an op ed in The Hill last year that higher ethanol blends will be cheaper, having an impact on inflation by bringing down the cost of transported goods such as food. The North Dakotan ethanol industry is supportive of the move, saying it will further support demand growth.
