Green Plains’ CEO sees global ethanol demand growth at up to 3%

In Florida, Green Plains’ CEO told a conference that the domestic ethanol industry provides demand for growing corn production, acting as a sort of modern day farm policy supporting farmers, but it does it in a way that’s profitable rather than a burden on government coffers. Globally he sees demand for cheap, clean octane increasing despite import tariffs in China and Brazil that have cut off significant demand centers. He said demand for global ethanol should increase up to 3% per year.
