RenovaBio stuck on Brazilian president’s desk indefinitately

In Brazil, the long-awaited RenovaBio program meant to be a shot in the arm for the country’s biofuel industry as a major key to achieving environmental goals set during COP21 has been stalled on the president’s desk, three months after the date originally expected. Reuters reports that no date has been set for the bill to head to Congress, though likely it won’t be this year as the president reportedly said at a meeting recently among stakeholders that impact studies still need to be done.
