October biodiesel production and imports up despite anti-dumping duties

November 20, 2017 |

In Washington, the Environmental Protection Agency said October biodiesel production and imports rose to 227.5 million gallons, 5.6% higher than in September and nearly 1.5% higher year-on-year. Traditionally imported biodiesel generated a significant number of D4 RINs, about 21% of the total in October 2016, but with reduced imports from Indonesia and Argentina following imposition of anti-dumping duties, that figure fell to 19% of the total, but even so RIN production rose by 18.6 million in September to 349 million in October.
