NRL signs MOU for 150,000 tons of bamboo for planned Chempolis cellulosic ethanol plant

In India, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd signed an MOU to secure 150,000 metric tons of bamboo annually from the Manipur region to supply its planned cellulosic ethanol plant with Finland’s Chempolis. The agreement is expected to lead towards the creation of bamboo processing clusters that will help farmers add value to their bamboo plantations.  The $146.7 million facility will process a total of 500,000 tons of bamboo annually to produce 49,000 metric tons of cellulosic ethanol.
