US ethanol desperately looking for new homes abroad

In New York, US ethanol producers are looking for new markets to take the place of China and Brazil who had traditionally absorbed 40% or more of exports volume, with opportunities potentially arising in India and Mexico as well as Africa and Asia, but if they don’t pan out at the levels required then production will have to be pared down. Ethanol prices have fallen to a two-year low while exports in September were the smallest in about a year.
