In France, Strategie Grains believes Europe’s 2018/19 rapeseed crop will jump to 22.6 million metric tons, up from 21.7 million tons expected during the current season thanks to on-going yield rises the consultancy believes will continue next year. It sees planted area as flat at around 6.7 million hectares. It also forecasted sunflower production to drop slightly to 9 million tons and soybean production to gain slightly at 2.7 million tons. The estimates are very early considering farmers have yet to confirm planting decisions for next spring.
