Noble scores $15 million offer via Mercuria bid for South Bend Ethanol

In Singapore, Business Times is reporting that Mercuria Investments has agreed to pay Noble $3 million more for its Noble Americas South Bend Ethanol plant in Indiana than Zeeland Farm’s $12.5 million offer that had been seen as a done deal. Noble was expected to terminate its agreement with Zeeland Farm on Monday and pay a $2 million termination fee in the process, netting the company $1 million more with the new deal.  Mercuria is a major biofuels trader and was shortlisted in September as a potential buyer of Noble’s $1 billion oil business.
