A Boeing/Embraer merger could mean deeper aviation biofuel research collaboration

In Washington state, collaboration on aviation biofuel research may deepen between Boeing and Embraer should a merger between the two companies go forward, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The paper broke the story Wednesday about the possible deal that values the Brazilian company with a premium at $3.7 billion in a move set to position them versus a potential tie up between Airbus and Bombardier. The Brazilian government has veto authority over a potential merger and it’s not yet clear if they would green light the deal.
