India’s transportation minister to present biofuel policy to parliament this week

In India, The Hitavada reports the transportation minister said he will present to parliament this week the long-awaited biofuel policy including setting methanol at 34 cents per liter as a way to push its use and reduce fossil fuel imports. The push for ethanol production, especially second generation ethanol production, is aimed at not just improving the environmental footprint of transportation but also helping to keep farmers working their land rather than continuing to flood to cities.
