NBB says installed capacity enough to supply biodiesel for RFS

January 24, 2018 |

In Texas, with 2.5 billion gallons of installed capacity “ready to go”, Platts reports that the National Biodiesel Board believes the domestic biodiesel industry can produce enough to satisfy 2.1 billion gallons required under the Renewable Fuel Standard for 2018 and 2019 without need for imports. Up to a third of biodiesel applied toward the RFS came from imports in recent years but with high import tariffs lobbed on biodiesel from Indonesia and Argentina, there won’t be that extra supply competing with domestic product.
