Flex-fuel kits could boost French ethanol demand 225 million liters annually

January 30, 2018 |

In France, the national ethanol association believes the introduction of flex-fuel adaptation kits for automobiles will help boost demand for ethanol significantly, by 225 million liters per year from the current 8 billion liters consumed per year, if 25% of vehicles run on E85. The EUR700 kits approved in mid-December could be used on about 10 million cars, considering that there are currently only 1,000 fueling stations in the country that offer E85 to the public.
