Red River Biorefinery seeks $80 million county bond

In North Dakota, the Grand Forks Herald reports that Red River BioRefinery has asked Grand Forks County to issue an $80 million bond to help it build a facility that would use sugarbeet and potato waste along with other food waste to produce ethanol. The county has agreed to start the process but the bonds for the offshoot of Wisconsin-based BioMass Solution has not yet been approved. The estimated investment costs as well as other technical details for the facility haven’t been made public, citing trade secrets.
