Ethanol production up from week before

In Washington, D.C., ethanol production averaged 1.057 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 44.39 million gallons daily, up 18,000 b/d from the week before, according to EIA data analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association. The four-week average for ethanol production increased to 1.055 million b/d for an annualized rate of 16.17 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol were 23.5 million barrels. That is a 2.2% increase from last week. There were zero imports recorded for the ninth week in a row.

Average weekly gasoline demand increased 0.7% to 382.6 million gallons (9.110 million barrels) daily. This is equivalent to 139.7 billion gallons annualized. Refiner/blender input of ethanol increased 1.2% to a six-week high of 868,000 b/d, equivalent to 13.31 billion gallons annualized. The ethanol content in gasoline supplied to the market averaged 9.53%, up from 9.49% the previous week. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production increased to 11.60%.
