RDA says A$546 million ethanol facility could break ground in 3-6 months

In Australia, Renewable Developments Australia believes it could start work on developing its proposed sugarcane and sorghum ethanol plant in North Queensland within the next three to six months following positive results from investors. The A$546 million facilities would grow crops on more than 19,000ha of land to produce 190 million liters of ethanol annually along with 16MW of cogeneration power. A second phase would produce up to 150 million liters of ethanol annually from bagasse.
