RFA calls for united front against RFS reforms

February 13, 2018 |

In Texas, the head of the Renewable Fuels Association has called for the ethanol industry to stand strong in a united front against attempts to reform the Renewable Fuel Standard in light of the recent bankruptcy of independent refiner Philadelphia Energy Solutions. The company claims compliance costs with the RFS put it in financial jeopardy but the RFA says it is due to the refinery’s antiquated technology and feedstock exposure. The RFA only supports reforms that would boost biofuel consumption, not reduce it or see RIN prices capped.
