In Brazil, the country’s ANP fuels agency announced the required volumes of ethanol carryover stocks mills must hold will drop to 4% of traded volumes from 8% as of March 31. The agency also changed rules regarding volumes of anhydrous ethanol domestic producers and importers must have on hand during the inter-harvest season, setting it at 25% until January 31 of each year and then they may fall back again to 4%. Smaller importers who don’t have access to or the financial capacity to secure larger storage volumes are likely to be negatively impacted.
