UK biomass power company gets wrists slapped for advertising 0g/kWh of CO2 emissions

February 28, 2018 |

In the UK, the Press Agency reports that biomass power producer and supplier Good Energy had its wrist slapped by the Advertising Standards Authority for its claim that its energy produces 0g/kWh of CO2 emissions. The government agency told the company that it must include CO2 emissions along the entire lifecycle of the energy it sells including import and export to the grid, feedstock processing and transportation. It said the information provided by the company when questioned about the claims didn’t sufficiently fulfill its requirements and as such banned the advertisement and the company from making what it says are misleading claims.
