Boost in ethanol exports to China and Brazil support higher CIF Philippines prices

In the Philippines, Platts reports that higher US ethanol prices and a premium for fuel shipped out of the US Gulf Coast region have boosted CIF Philippines imported ethanol prices to $514/cu m, the highest seen in 10 months. With arbitrage windows into both China and Brazil wide open, exporters are taking advantage of the opportunity to move large volumes of product that has in turn supported prices. As much as 450,000 cu m of ethanol could potentially be exported to Brazil from the US during February and March.
