The Digest’s 2018 Multi-Slide Guide to the Status of Advanced Biofuels

There are over 2,000 biomass to fuel facilities representing 1,461 companies in 90 countries. According to subject matter expert and long-time Digesterati Lorenz Bauer, “first-generation biofuels will continue to dominate the market but will lose market share. At the same time, advanced biofuel capacity is expected to double by 2020 to 9.6 billion gallons per year. However, biodiesel begins to fade from their 65% market share as low-carbon and high-performance drop-in biofuels such as renewable diesel increase.

Bauer, who lists among the Lee Enterprises Consulting constellation, gave this illuminating overview on advanced biofuels promise and progress at ABLC 2018 in Washington DC.
