White House postpones fourth RFS meeting

March 12, 2018 |

In Washington, Platts reports that the White House has postponed a fourth meeting on the Renewable Fuels Standard set for Thursday, perhaps as a result of the President’s expected announcement on steel and aluminum tariffs. Since the White House first announced on February 22 it was hosting meetings to try to end the impasse between the oil and biofuels industries on the future of the RFS, RIN prices have fallen by 27%. Some say the President may be open to capping the price of RINs but only if limited to two years.
