Maha mills wants Indian OMCs to float ethanol tenders in Q2

March 19, 2018 |

In India, the Financial Express newspaper reports that sugar mills in Maharashtra want oil marketing companies to float tenders for ethanol a full financial quarter ahead of time, in June and July rather than September and October, saying they need more time to ensure supplies are ready for November delivery. The late tender is one of the reasons mills across the country have complained they couldn’t participate properly in ethanol tenders, limiting the volumes they can offer and eventually supply, because the tenders are floated opposite to when mills make decisions on what to do with their excess molasses supplies.
