NY City to fuel nearly 1,000 vehicles on REG’s 99% fossil-free fuel

May 3, 2018 |

In New York state, New York City will use 99% fossil-free fuel for more than 1,000 municipal vehicles including much of its sanitation fleet and fire trucks, driving more than 11.3 million miles per year on fuel provided by Renewable Energy Group and distributed by Sprague Energy. The move follows 12 years of biofuel blending by the city’s transportation service, and in line with the mayor’s vision to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050, the transition to nearly fossil free fuel is a natural one.
