May 8, 2018 |

In India, the Press Trust of India reports that the National Green Tribunal has fined Uttar Pradesh $744 because it hasn’t submitted a report regarding sugarcane mills and ethanol distilleries who haven’t received permission from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization to manufacture, store and transport ethanol. Mills complained to the NGT that UP officials delayed their inspections that were required in order to secure the required permissions so they could restart ethanol production.
